  • Coronation celebrations at Long Row

    Fri 05 May 2023

Our children have had a fantastic afternoon celebrating the King's Coronation. Here is what some of our children had to say.

Bailey and his team played 'God save our King' on the glockenspiels, Boomwhackers and chime bars. “It’s our National Anthem.”

Frankie, Jenson and Seth and their team were Coronation planting “We are raking out the weeds so we can do some planting. King Charles and David Attenborough work together to save the environment”

“We performed a drama to present the King with his Orb, Sceptre and Crown. The crowd were interviewed to find out how they were feeling about the Coronation, many were proud and excited.”

Emily said, “I’ve made a shiny crown because King Charles III is being Coronated on Saturday.”

Martha and Amelia, “We are dancing through decades of time, we have been doing the Twist and the Hand-Jive.”

“We searched for our Royal words in the woods.”

Lilly-Anna and Jessie, “We are making a collage of the Union Jack because the King is being crowned.”

Josh said , “The Coronation lunch was different, it was unusual and I like unusual. We had different food and the tables were like a street party.”

We thank the kitchen staff for creating a wonderful atmosphere in the hall and preparing our delicious lunch. A wonderful afternoon has been had by all!

  • National emergency alert test

    Fri 21 Apr 2023

On Sunday 23 April at 3pm the government will test its national emergency alert system.

An emergency alert is a loud, siren-like sound with a message on your mobile phone screen to alert you if there’s a danger to life nearby and to give advice about how to stay safe.

    You may get alerts about:

    severe flooding
    fires
    extreme weather.

Emergency alerts will only be sent by: the emergency services, government departments, agencies and public bodies that deal with emergencies.

Victims of domestic abuse, who may have a hidden phone, can opt out of receiving the alerts on their hidden device and still receive warning messages on a device that's not hidden.
