PE at Long Row
At Long Row Primary School, we recognise the importance of providing all children with opportunities to engage fully in Physical Education (P.E). Through P.E. children acquire not only physical skills, knowledge and understanding, but also the awareness and importance of leading a healthy lifestyle and the importance of physical activity. P.E. embeds the values of sportsmanship, fairness and respect. We hope that, through the sporting opportunities and physical activity we offer, the children will develop a love and passion for sport and continue this into their later lives. We encourage active play times, including Sports Leader led games; various after school sports clubs, plus the the opportunity to compete in competitions against other local primary schools. This is all part of our embedded work on SMILERS, where we embrace the 'move' element, by also encouraging active learning during non PE lessons.
House teams
Each child in school is allocated one of 4 house teams and they remain part of that team throughout their time at Long Row. The children will compete for their house team in various activities throughout the year, including during PE lessons, lunchtime games and sports day,
The 4 house teams are:
