Long Row Primary and Nursery School

Inspire, Respect, Belong

British Values

Our school  is committed to actively promoting British values to ensure our pupils leave us fully prepared for life in modern Britain. The government emphasises that all schools should ensure that they teach pupils about British values. We take every opportunity to promote the fundamental British values of:

  • Democracy
  • The rule of law
  • Individual liberty
  • Mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs

We promote British values both within and beyond the classroom and these values are at the heart of our school community, woven into our school ethos, curriculum and behaviour policy.

Our school curriculum is built around our school ethos which is to Inspire, build Respect and create a sense of community so children Belong. We encourage our children to take responsibility for themselves and their place in the wider community in which they live, ensuring they are prepared for later life.

Our, Inspire, Respect, Belong, values are woven into our behaviour policy through our 3 rules which teach children to be Safe, Ready and Respectful.

Please read the statement below detailing just some of the ways our school seeks to model and promote British values.
