The Years 5 & 6 children have had a wonderful time learning all about the history and significance of the Mill in Belper. They have learnt about the River Derwent and how it was used to power the Mill, the 1803 fire at the North Mill and how that prompted the design of a fireproof Mill, about the Victorian social order, about the working life of a Victorian child in the Mill and about how the Strutt family built so much of the town. Please see some of our wonderful photos attached!
