Translating the site
The Translate button uses Google Translate. Nothing is sent to Google until you choose a language — the button does not load anything from Google before that. Once you choose one, the text of the page is sent to Google to be translated, and Google sets the googtrans cookie. You can read Google’s privacy notice to see what they do with it. To stop it, set the language back to English or clear your cookies.
Removing cookies
You can delete cookies, or stop a site setting them, in your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop you reading this website; it will only mean the site cannot remember a language you have chosen, and staff will be asked for the staff-area password more often.
