This statement applies to the Long Row Primary and Nursery School website. The school runs this site, and we want as many people as possible to be able to use it.
How you should be able to use this website
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
- zoom in to 400% without text running off the screen
- navigate the whole site using a keyboard, without a mouse
- listen to the site using a screen reader
- read the site on a phone without scrolling sideways
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
Parts of this website are not fully accessible. We know about the following, and they are listed in full further down this page.
- Most photographs do not yet have a written description, so a screen reader will pass over them without saying what they show.
- Some of our policies are PDFs that were not written to be read by a screen reader.
- One table on the finance page has no column headings.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility
Long Row Primary and Nursery School is committed to making this website accessible, in line with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, because of the things listed below.
What is not accessible, and why
- Photographs have no written description. A screen reader is told there is an image but not what it shows. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content). We are writing descriptions for the photographs on our main pages first. TODO: what date should we say this will be finished by?
- One table has no column headings. The table of staff salaries on the finance page does not say what its columns mean, so a screen reader reads the figures without their labels. This fails success criterion 1.3.1 (info and relationships). TODO: confirm the two column headings and we will add them.
- Some PDFs are not accessible. A number of our policies were produced as PDFs that a screen reader cannot read reliably. This fails success criterion 1.1.1 and 4.1.2. If you need any policy in another format, ask us and we will provide it.
Content outside the scope of the regulations
PDFs and other documents published before 23 September 2018 are exempt from the regulations if they are not needed for a service the school provides. We are replacing older documents as they come up for review. The map on our contact page is provided by Google and we do not control how accessible it is; our full address and telephone number are given as text on the same page.
How we tested this website
This website was last tested on 14 August 2026. Testing was carried out by Lead IT Services. Every published page was checked automatically for missing text alternatives, heading structure, link names, form labels and broken links. Fourteen pages representing each type of page were then tested by hand on a desktop and a mobile screen, including colour contrast, keyboard-only navigation and target sizes.
Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on TODO: the date the school approves this statement. It was last reviewed on the same date.
