Singing Summer Schools July 2022

The Derby & Derbyshire Music Partnership are pleased to be running their Singing Summer Schools again this summer.  They are open for children aged 7+ and they will spend 3 days taking part in singing and musical fun, learning songs from around the world.  These are wonderful opportunities for music and friendship making.

This year, the Singing Summer Schools will take place on Monday 25th July to Wednesday 27th July.

For more information, please visit the Derbyshire Music Hub website  Please also let Mrs Z-B know if you are taking part too!

Year 4 Music Opportunities - Stringed Instruments

Despite all the challenges we have faced in school, the children in Year 4 have been really lucky to have been able to continue with their Wider Opportunities Music sessions this year.  The sessions, delivered by Mr Barks, are incredibly enjoyable and it's been wonderful to see the Year 4 children develop their musicianship skills alongside playing stringed instruments.

As we near the end of the academic year, there is now the opportunity for the current Year 4 children to continue on their musical journey by having individual or small group instrument lessons.  Mr Barks is able to offer tuition for a range of stringed instruments.  Please see the attached documents for more information on how to contact Mr Barks directly, or you can also ask Mrs Z-B for a copy of the information.

South East Derbyshire Music Centre

South East Derbyshire Music Centre provides a wonderful opportunity for young people in Amber Valley and Erewash to make music!  On Saturday mornings, the Centre is busy with musical activities such as wind bands, orchestras and choirs.  There is something for every ability level, and allows for wonderful music making opportunities and regular concerts.  Several children who learn instruments at Long Row already attend SEDMC and really enjoy their weekly music sessions there.
