πŸŽ‰ We have loved meeting our new FS 2 children, and having lots of children back in school! They have all done so well coming in on their own and are already settling very well. This week, we will try and get some photographs to post!! πŸŽŠ

Week Beginning: Monday 7th September 2020

Hello everyone! πŸ‘‹

We hope you all enjoyed your transition day in school last week. 🌞 The EYFS team loved meeting you all and we are very excited about having you all back in school this week for some more sessions.πŸ€©πŸ‘

Information about your starting days and times, for your first full week at school (introductory week: week beginning 7th September), were emailed to you during July- please check this information carefully as it is very important that everyone turns up on the right days and at the right times, so we can all stay safe and everyone can settle well πŸ‘- thank you! πŸ˜€

If you can't find this information then contact the school office asap!!

See you all on Monday. 🌈

Welcome to the Creative Clownfish and Amazing Angelfish classes!! 🐠 🐟

The EYFS unit is made up of Nursery (FS 1) and Reception (FS 2), and we share this page together🀩

We have FS 1 children and FS 2 children mixed in both classes, and we all share our resources together, including our outside area. πŸ˜Ž

Mrs Coope and Mrs Smurthwaite will be teaching the Amazing Angelfish class and Mrs Jones will be teaching the Creative Clownfish class. πŸ  🐟  Mrs Lymer will be based in the Amazing Angelfish class and Mrs Waterfall in the Creative Clownfish class . πŸ‘ πŸ‘

We know you are starting school or nursery in very unusual times, but we have been working hard to make things as 'normal' as possible for you all. We have some fun activities planned for your start in September 🎈 πŸŽˆ 🎈, so that we can all get to know one another and become familiar with how school and nursery works! πŸŒˆ

We have put a short welcome video together (see below), so you can see what we all look like and get to know us a little, as well as finding out where you need to come each day when you arrive at school/nursery.

Don't forget, the information video is available via the 'Parents' section, under 'Reception Intake September 2020'. It will hopefully give you some information about starting school and answer some of your questions.

Keep smiling 😊and stay safe everyone.πŸ€—

A little video from the EYFS team!!

We have thought of a few things you can do at home to help you become independent and ready for school:

  • We bet you have got your uniforms, shoes and coat ready for starting school, so have a try at getting yourself dressed all by yourself and learn how to put your shoes and coat on independently. Don't panic if you can't do everything by yourself as we will just be delighted to see you have a try by yourself before asking for help - we will help you with the tricky bits! πŸ˜‡

  • At school you will have a peg, in the cloakroom area, with your name on it, so try and learn to recognise your name (when written). You will then be able to find things that belong to you easily. You don't need to be able to write your name as we will teach you this at school! 😊

  • Try going to the toilet by yourself so you can clean yourself afterwards and wash your hands - we imagine that you will all be very good at hand washing! You will be asked to wash your hands quite a lot at school!! πŸ’§πŸ’§πŸ’§πŸ™ˆ

  • Play lots of games with your family - this will help you to become really good at sharing and turn taking. We have got lots of games to play at school! ⭐

  • At school, you will be asked to use a knife and fork to eat your lunch. 🍽️ It would be really helpful if you could use these all by yourself, so have a go during your family mealtimes. The teachers will stay with you at lunch during the first few days so don't worry as we will help you.

Don't worry if you can't manage everything by yourself but remember that practice makes perfect and the teachers will always help you when you are struggling!! πŸ€—
